Afrodevelopment is a virtual think tank for advancing policy, practice and research on human development in Africa. It combines the intentions of a think tank, research centre and consultancy.
Our Scope
The scope of the organisation covers all aspects of development but focuses on addressing and discussing policy questions in light of critical problems to be solved, under-studied policy areas and pro-poor policy issues. Our scope spans the full breadth of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Our Political Space
The organisation’s political space are national in seeking out domestic policies of African countries and regional regarding Africa as a whole.
Our Ideology
The organisation’s ideology is to emphasise the uniqueness of Africa as key reference point in her march to development. This is important considering the lack of adequate understanding among development actors of the concerns, priorities, culture, and experiences of the people they aim to bring development to. It is our belief that Africa’s development stories need to be told more by Africans by prioritising what matters to the people and not what is atop of academic and political agendas.
Our Work
Our work include a package of products on development in Africa. First, we research current development issues in Africa. Second, we deliver communication products to propagate development practice. Third, we deliver policy advice on eliminating all poverty. Our interest is to pursue this through funding, endowments, or consultancy.
Our Engagement
We intend to partner with other think tanks, research centres, and multilaterl development agencies within and outside the continent while at the same time communicate their opinions and ideas which we share .
